Are you struggling with pornography and/or sexual addiction?

If so, this page is for you. Help is available.

Below is a statement written by one of our former leaders that we believe accurately outlines this ministry.

Let us have the courage to be honest...

In most church settings words like pornography, masturbation, adultery, homosexuality and sexual immorally are never mentioned. When they are, condemnation, not just of the behavior, but of the believer generally follows. But how does this condemnation agree with Romans 8:1-2, "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death." (NIV) In short, condemnation of a believer over sexual sin is wrong. God is so done with our sin. Peter tells us Christ died once for all sins (I Peter 3:17-19). Does this mean we should excuse the sin, act like it's not a big deal and encourage the behavior? By NO means! (See Paul's discussion of sin and Grace: Romans 5-6, especially 5:20 - 6:12).

Let us turn to Christ together...

So the questions remain: Why do I do things that I know are wrong (Romans 7:7-25) and is real change possible? At New Hope Fellowship, we are convinced that the answer to the first question is the wrong things we do are an attempt to find community and love that can only be offered by a perfect, holy God. George MacDonald once said, "The man knocking on the door of a brothel is looking for God." We agree with him. In this fallen world we have twisted and perverted God's great creation and "dug our own broken cisterns" as the prophet Jeremiah I put it (Jeremiah 2:13). Rather than seek the "living water" of God and Christ Jesus, our redeemer, friend and brother. The answer to the second question is, "Yes, we believe real change is possible." The hope of we have comes from the life that Christ promised, "I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly." (John 10:10 - NASB) This abundant life Christ defined in the Gospel of John, "Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (17:3)"

Let us trust in God's forgiveness when we fail...

So many of us have fought the battle against sexual sin and failed time and time again. We have promised to try harder, and we did. We have promised to be more committed to God and His word, and we were until the next failure. The noose must be cut, not struggled against. We believe the battle cannot be fought alone because the power sin and shame is too great when we are isolated. The hope of the For Men Only groups is to provide a safe place to reveal who we are as men. To expose our sin and struggle with sexual issues no matter how ugly. By doing this we allow ourselves to be known by others and by God, and we walk in the light of God (1 John 1:4-10). As we walk in the light we trust in God's faithfulness to transform us from the stained saints we are to the wondrous creation He intended since before the beginning of time. And the most wonderful news is we have a faithful God (2 Timothy 2:11-13).
